For this week’s Mortgage Marketing Minute, Carl s talking on a subject that surely hit home with me and I am going to guess that you will be able to relate to some degree as well.
The title of this tip is called: Killing Vampires with Sticky Notes…
You can watch this tip in just 2 min 39 seconds but the strategy should save you several hours per week.
Check it out now >>
Instead of Emailing Carl for information on the “Fire Group” that he talks about in the video above, we’ve decided to invite you to a Webinar so we can SHOW you what it is all about. Watch your email next week for an invite.
Finally…
Do you sometimes find yourself busy being busy? And at the end of the day you wonder where all the time went? If so, post a comment and let us know what types of unprofitable tasks you find yourself doing too much of? Who knows? Maybe someone will post a solution to your problem!

great idea! I’m way too busy doing “stuff”–need a kick in the pants, but the sticky note works just fine!
I know what you mean.
I do have a vampire killing time friend of mine sucking precious time of my day passing along every bad news he can find to justify his dropping in production.
On thing that had helped me A LOT is remembering a comment I heard.
I heard Jim Rohn said ” Don’t start your day before you finished it”
Or hire yourself as the News reported for your life. Write your tomorrow HEADLINES, Today.
Thanks Carl ,
Juan
Boy did you hit the nail on the head. I wear so many hats a day. It is hard to get anything accomplished. I actually had a talk with myself a couple of days ago. Doing for me and only me during certain times of the day.
I use to put task on sticky notes and not leave until they were all pull down. Then I started using a Franklin Day Planner. I really need to think and work that way again. Time management in the key!
I appreciate your vampire summary, as the issues of simplicity are the ones we sometimes miss. I am an Australian broker, and we are going through a “political downturn” where the economic fundamentals are good, although interest rate increases and petrol and living costs increasing has left many sittingo nthe fnence cashed up and waiting to do any finance. I was wondering if in your library of inforation if you have a stratedgy to work in a present quiet market?? Appreciate your feedback.
Carl, excellent point! Busy work doesn’t get us paid. I’ve posted my sticky already.
Carl,
I find myself in the same predicament as you have described. I think it is because many of us have lost momentum and are not able to outsource or delegate the task out.
Thanks for all of your tips.

How true, we can stay busy with “important” tasks, and not get to money making tasks. I need to refocus on the money making tasks, and forget the “important” tasks.
Thanks for hitting me between the eyes!
Carl - you’re so right. Thanks for the great tip.
One thing that I have done in the past that has helped to eliminate wasted time is to keep a log of everyone who has brought me something to do that isn’t my job or who has interrupted me unnecessarily. What I found is that there are certain people who are on the list a lot. Those are the ones to handle. These people can be clients, vendors, friends, family or others. The important thing is to be able to spot who are your time wasters so that you can handle them. A very simple log book with the date, time, who it was and what they did to waste your time is all that you need. Use it and you will get more done.
you are so right on with your commentary…I always seem to be busy but am not closing deals…I’ll start with the sticky note…
